Amazon.comThe ultimate everyday notebook is better than ever. The Apple MacBook Air now features the latest Intel processors and graphics, faster flash storage, and a 720p FaceTime HD camera. All packed into a notebook that's incredibly thin and light. With up to 60 percent faster graphics performance, it makes everything you do feel quicker and more fluid than ever. And the latest flash storage is up to 4x faster than a traditional hard drive, making MacBook Air remarkably responsive.
The MacBook Air with 11.6-inch screen (view larger).
Now with two USB 3 ports and a Thunderbolt port (view larger).
This version of the MacBook Air (model MD224LL/A) sports an 11.6-inch high-resolution display, 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5 dual-core processor, 128 GB of flash memory storage, 4 GB of RAM, and up to 5 hours of battery life (see full specifications below). It also comes with the iLife '11 software suite, which includes the latest versions of iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand.
Key Features
Intel Core i5 Dual-Core Processing
And with the Intel HD Graphics 4000 processor, you get up to 60 percent faster graphics. So the video you watch, the FaceTime calls you make, and pretty much everything else you do is smoother and more detailed.
The spacious, full-sized keyboard (see larger image).
High-speed Thunderbolt and USB 3 Ports
A high-speed Thunderbolt port allows the MacBook Air to transfer data at lightning-fast speeds and connect displays like the Apple Thunderbolt Display, enabling you to turn this highly portable notebook into a highly versatile workstation. And with two USB 3 ports, you'll be able to connect the latest USB 3 devices and access a pipeline that's up to 10 times faster than USB 2.Because Thunderbolt is based on DisplayPort technology, you'll be able to connect to a high-resolution display from the same port. Any Mini DisplayPort display plugs right into the Thunderbolt port, and you can also connect displays that use DisplayPort, DVI, HDMI, or VGA connections with an existing adapter. You'll also be able to include your display into a daisy-chained set of peripherals.
Flash Memory Storage
By replacing the standard spinning hard drive typically found in laptops (as well as desktop PCs) with flash memory, the MacBook Air delivers an almost instantaneous boot-up when you open the display, as well as faster application launches and snappier overall performance. Additionally, Apple has shed the enclosure that typically surrounds flash memory (usually about the same size as a standard hard drive), thus giving it a smaller footprint and helping to decrease the size of the MacBook Air.Multi-Touch Trackpad
The Multi-Touch gestures in OS X make everything you do on MacBook Air more intuitive, direct, and fun. You can pinch, swipe or rotate images on the display screen with the brush of two fingers, or add more digits for a four-fingered vertical swipe to open Expose and quickly glance at all of your open windows.Integrated HD FaceTime Webcam
You'll be able to easily connect with friends, family, and business colleagues using the MacBook Air's HD 720p FaceTime camera, which is integrated into the thin bezel above the display and features three times the resolution of the previous FaceTime camera. And with Apple's FaceTime application, you're not limited to video chats with other Macs--you can now make video calls to iPhone and iPod touch users.Backlit Keyboard
The MacBook Air manages to fit a full-size keyboard that makes typing as natural as it is comfortable. And the keyboard is backlit, so you can type with ease in even the dimmest light. A built-in ambient light sensor detects changes in lighting conditions and adjusts the display and keyboard brightness automatically.Specifications

Wonderfully portable. This laptop is perfect for someone who doesn't
want to be stuck at a desk. At only 11.6 inches, the McAir actually
fits on top of your lap (imagine that). There are so many great features
to this little machine: It is light (you may forget it is in your bag),
strong (one handed, no problem), quick (able to do hard tasks quickly
and with no fuss), has good sound (enjoy dancing around your room?
Trying to drown out some background noise? Like music to sound the way
it should? no problem), and best of all it is connected with a great
customer services help line (just in case). It is not for everyone
though, if you enjoy watching movies on your laptop (especially with
other people) the screen size may not be helpful for that. However, if
you find that you dont usually use all the screen of larger laptops,
this one my end up making more sense to you. I came straight to this Mac
from a PC, a little a afraid that it would take me forever to get used
to it. I was surprised to see how easy this is to use. The storage space
may be a bit less than what you need, but it easily works with portable
external hard drives. It does not have a dvd drive... but you can find
an external one on amazon that can aid you with that. In summary, the
11.6 MacAir is pretty much a worker ant, got 50x it's weight in things
to do? Give it a go and watch it shine for yourself.

I've had Macs forever. Despite the hefty price tag you pay (and, let's
face it, all Apple products), they really are the Mercedes of the car
world. Sexy. Fun. Creative. Entertaining. These are many words that
describe all Apple products - and the mid-2012 Macbook Air (I got the
11.6" model for totability) fits right in. First off, it's small -
like, seriously. Maybe going from my second generation Macbook Pro just
felt heavy (in actuality, it really, really was), but this guy is so
light it's no wonder people can take them practically everywhere;
perhaps even more so than the iPad (which feels heavier to me; it could
very well be). The Macbook Air has everything you come to expect from a
Mac and I found the screen size perfectly suitable for my needs as I
don't use it as my main source to Netflix or anything (I have a flat
screen TV for that). It's super fast and the screen is wonderful; sure,
it's not Retina Display nice, but at 11.6" it's almost hard to discern
unless you REALLY look hard that it's not 100% perfectly clear. While
it lacks the hefty hard drive capacity of its brethren, the Air (to me)
is more of an entertainment-centric device, much like an iPad or Kindle
Fire is meant to be, just in ultra-slim laptop form (get why I called it
the AirPad in my subject line?). One thing I noticed was that the
battery really goes faster than I expected, but at its thinness that
really isn't a surprise. Overall, though, the Macbook Air is a worthy
addition to any computer family and well worth the money for people who
want an ultra-light, ultra-thin on-the-go laptop.

I am a Public Relations student at Cal State Fullerton. As a PR student
we write a lot. I needed a computer that was portable, with good
battery life, adequate screen real estate, and fast enough processor to
run many open programs. After much debate and review reading I ended up on purchasing this computer. I have used it for one semester, I cant tell you how many people have commented on how bad they want one, or what I thought of it.
Battery life is perfect, I usually only have MS Word, Firefox, and Kindle app running at any given time. I find myself charging it randomly. I can go three days without a charge.
Screen size is perfect, not too big that it takes up all my desk space but not small like an iPad. Processor is all I need, I have never even bogged it down.
Portability is amazing, I take it everywhere with me. I have even carried it in the middle of a book!
I love this computer, which i'm writing this review on now.
If you are a student, looking for portability, battery life, adequate processor and screen size....This IS the perfect laptop for you.
