Thanks to all who posted comments about this great tv. I shopped online for quite a while and focused in on a few different models (RCA, Sony, and this LG). The reviews were what sold me on the LG over the others.
I've had it a week and love every second it's on. Watched the NBA Finals and it was like being there. My kids play xbox and the screen is so big and clear they've got huge grins on their faces the whole time. I'm still tweaking the picture, which is crazy to think about seeing as how good it is now, and that I can still make it even better.
I agree with some other posters, that the built-in speakers are just so-so, but really what did you expect out of a maybe 2" deep tweeter? Just connect your digital out to a stereo system and you're good to go.
Highly recommend even if it is "just" a 2012 model tv.
Had a budget of 500 and this was listed at 499.99. Helluva deal and I'm very satisfied.

So far, very good TV. This is a back-up set, so I have not watched a wide variety of things on the set. We have this in the guest / exercise room. It is used at least 3x-4x/ week with Netflix while I word out, watching movies / shows / documentaries. It's usually in low light situations, but the pic is very clear. There is no sound system hooked up to it, but the set speakers do a fine job (I use headphones when working out). We also have the game console hooked up. Don't play it much, but the few times I have it seems to have a good picture (no jerking).

I ordered a new tv but the one we've received was definitely not new. It was missing one of the screws on the side and thus had a gap between the screen and the body of the tv. Not only is the tv in bad condition, it was also missing a stand body for the assembly. The box for this has been opened before we've received it because the bottom of the box was open and the styrofoam protecting the tv was missing for the top part. The styrofoam was all broken inside as well. This is ridiculous
