The Epson VS220 SVGA projector is a fantastic feature-rich device. The User manual is very well prepared with quite detailed instructions. There are a few enhancements that could be made in both the device and manual that would be useful. I have used many different brands of projectors but the Epson is my first use. The Epson gets very hot even with a few minutes of use. The fan system needs to be better-designed. Given such an intense heat content, I am concerned about the life of it. Also, the connectivity of the wireless remote is not very clear in the manual. Can it only work with a Type B USB connection or can it also be used with an HDMI connection, without the USB connection? The advertisement for this Epson didn't mention the resolution was 800 x 600 pixels. Unfortunately, I took it for granted that the resolution would be quite higher, given current technology. One star is only to get this message out - it is LOUD! None of the paid reviewers mentioned it. I have an older model - Epson powerlite 83C that is MUCH quieter. The problem is the fan size. It is so small, it has to rev-up to move any air and ends up just beating it because the unit still gets hotter. I thought I was modernizing as the 83C doesn't have HDMI receptacle but I couldn't handle the noise. They could have vented a larger fan through the bottom and there would have been no problem. Even two of the small fans running at 1/2 the speed would have worked. Sent it back and now appreciate my old unit more.
